What is CBD?
CBD / cannabidiol is a cannabinoid extracted from the industrial hemp plant. There are 113 known cannabinoids within the cannabis plant, CBD and THC being the two most dominant with CBD being completely non-psycho active and THC which is commonly known for its psycho active side effects.
What is "The Endocannabinoid System"?
Every single human on this earth shares what has recently been discovered as The Endocannabinoid System. By introducing phytocannabinoids (CBD) to the body's system, the body's CB1 and CB2 receptors can help to re-balance and bring back homeostasis within the body.
What are the CB1 and CB2 receptors, you may ask?
CB1: The CB1 receptors are primarily located on nerve cells in the brain and on the spinal cord, but they are also found elsewhere in the body. They regulate appetite, memory and reduce pain.
CB2: The CB2 receptors are located in the immune system and many other parts of the body such as the gut, spleen, liver, kidneys, heart, bones, blood vessels, lymph nodes, endocrine glans, reproductive organs and on the skin (which is why topical CBD is also beneficial). The CB2 receptors' role is to reduce inflammation.
